After last year’s break Moda is back with their Blockheads. For the fourth time the company asked their designers to prepare a block and write the pattern for it. It’s a sew-along that will last for 28 weeks – so you will get 28 blocks with some bonus blocks in between.
And (of course) I couldn’t resist to join the party. Last year I bought this colorful fat-quarter-bundle and some light grey (background) fabric of the same fabric line and I think it will be perfect for this year’s Blockheads.
And (as every time) I have the intention of sewing all blocks and finishing the quilt (fingers crossed here).
This is Blockhead 1 called “Square Wheel” by Lynne Hagmeier
Each block is given in a 9″ and a 4½” size and I intend to mix them. This block is 9 inches square.
Go to Lynne Hagmeier’s blog for the pdf pattern and sewing tips.
And if you want to join the fun the best way is to go to the Moda Blockheads Facebook Group where you will find the new block each week and a lot of inspiration in between. Looking forward to seeing you there.
