Today’s Blockhead is “Spinner” by Anne Sutton
The block is easy enough for my 4½ inches block.
“Kougin Amman” by Laurie Simpson is this week’s block for Moda Blockheads.
My block is 9 inches square. I told you that I will mix the different block sizes and I plan to do a layout inspired by Robin Picken’s “Square Garden” but changing the corners and some other bits.
If you want to sew the Blockheads as well (and want to know where the name of the block comes from) go to Laurie Simpson’s blog for the pdf pattern and sewing tips and join the Moda Blockheads Facebook Group where you will find the new block each week.
Enjoying the springflowers
Hiking in the Danube valley
Beautiful sunshine but also a serious lack of rain
Starting to knit a cardigan
And much more
After last year’s break Moda is back with their Blockheads. For the fourth time the company asked their designers to prepare a block and write the pattern for it. It’s a sew-along that will last for 28 weeks – so you will get 28 blocks with some bonus blocks in between.
And (of course) I couldn’t resist to join the party. Last year I bought this colorful fat-quarter-bundle and some light grey (background) fabric of the same fabric line and I think it will be perfect for this year’s Blockheads.
And (as every time) I have the intention of sewing all blocks and finishing the quilt (fingers crossed here).
Each block is given in a 9″ and a 4½” size and I intend to mix them. This block is 9 inches square.
Go to Lynne Hagmeier’s blog for the pdf pattern and sewing tips.
And if you want to join the fun the best way is to go to the Moda Blockheads Facebook Group where you will find the new block each week and a lot of inspiration in between. Looking forward to seeing you there.
