was this week’s challenge for Project Quilting – textile art based on a book.
My fabric postcard for this challenge is about “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, a book my daughter really loved when she was a kid (long time ago).
The caterpillar is fused and painted with color pencils and markers.
After finishing the postcard, making the photos and writing this blogpost up to this point I realised that this poor caterpillar has no nose. Sorry for that little guy.
This was a really fun project, bringing back a lot of memories. To see what all the other quilters created click here.

As a retired teacher I have had many classrooms create wall hangings of the feisty caterpillar! They were all cute.
I know no child that doesn’t love this caterpillar. The idea with wallhangings is great – I will pass it on to my daughter who is a teacher now. Thank you Sharon!
incredible! Looks so good and I love that book!
Thank you Kim! This surely is one of these books that everybody loves.
